Finally got some sewing done tonight!

Tablets are obviously starting to work, thank goodness, had a lovely evening sewing straight lines.

Also had a call from Martin Woods, he has never come across my problem before.... But think he has fixed it this time, but has two further plans up his sleeve if it gies wrong again, oh, if life was that simple :-)

Lynda Monk Workshop

What an inspiring day, if you eve get a chance to go to one of Lynda’s workshops – do, there is so much to learn and she is such a good tutor, but dont plan to go out in the evening after a day with Lynda as you will be shattered.

Lynda was extremely organised

Hard at work and then Father Christmas and his Elf dropped in!!!!  This prompted a good idea (I think) maybe I shall arrange a Christmas meal for the EG, may regret that idea when it comes to doing the organising………

Popular Patchwork

What a surprise, Di emailed me last night to say that my quilt based on NZ was in Popular Patchwork.  Couldn’t wait to get to the shops this morning to buy a copy.

The article was far better than I could have ever hoped for.  Shame they got the names wrong though.

Back Tracking

Pauline sent us all am email today, just before she went into hospital to have her knee done, giving us instructions on work to be dine for next exhibition! Apparently we aren't allowed to do any stitching until she has ok'd design in sketch book! Ohhppps! That's be snookered!

So have started sketch book that will hopefully tie in with me piece that I have started and that Pauline approves of plan!

Thought I had sorted my problem out

Mark, next door, has kept saying to me that he did not have time to look after his dogs, and why did I not have them instead of getting a puppy.

Well today I decided to take him up on his offer.

Had a great day with Ted and Basil, they even ended up having a shower and hair brush – very smart dogs.

It was good to be over the fields again, picked some blackberries too.

005

Found some mushrooms under one of my plants, just thought it was rather nice.

001

Then Mark came round, he had changed his mind and Ted and Basil went back with him :-(

So went for a bike ride.

Saturday and full steam ahead

Put final stitches onto ‘Cherrie’ the Sugar Plum Fly.

Then Millie arrived for the day as Rob and Mel were off to see ‘Love Never Dies’ – lucky devils.

10.09.10 001 10.09.10 013 10.09.10 014 10.09.10 022

The off to see the EAST exhibition, yes with Millie too!

Above are just a few pictures of their lovely work.

10.09.10 067But the pieces for me that made me stand back and take stock were Jeanette Bright’s  pieces based on the work that she is doing for the foundling museum.

 10.09.10 033 10.09.10 034 10.09.10 032

The little robes represent two mother’s children, each of the Mothers had to hand their children over to the Foundling Museum, one rich and one poor.  The bird in the cage represent that each of the women’s destiny was decided by their owners, whether it was the state, father or husband.

Lovely.

Then back to Mum’s so that she could have cuddle with Mille

10.09.10 078

Then round to Angies’s for a glass of wine while the boys were out, a good day.

Machines aggghhhhh!

My sewing machine has got it's old problem back, so another phone call to Martin Woods will be the order of the day tomorrow.

All I have managed to do tonight is stitch the outlines of the shapes and zig zag wire to edge of wings!

Maeldune all ready to rock and roll

Anne, Jenny, Christine, Shelia and I set up the exhibition at the Maeldune Centre today, it was a bit of an education………. and a lot of hard work, I learnt a lot, but would have hated having the final responsibility for how it was to be laid out – it is far more involved than I previously thought.  Think I spent more time hanging about like a lamp post rather than a beneficial helper!!
