Not the Bank Holiday that I had hoped for

Had planned to go and see Holly as an Ummper Lumper on her Play School float this weekend but the last few weeks have caught up with me and I know it would have been silly to do so much driving in 2 days, so decided not to go.

Saturday was always going to be spent down here as I was baby sitting Millie on Saturday night.  I was welcomed to the bank holiday with the sound of rain on the window pain – great.  I decided to do the statutory house work and washing and ironing and get that over and done with.  I then rewarded myself with some stitching time.

Put the backing on the quilt and then free machine stitched around the barbed wire patter to secure to the backing

Then found that it looked like lots of little pockets – yuk! So decided to slip stitch it, nice – bonus is that it gives the front lots of nice texture, disadvantage, it is hard to stitch and takes ages and as it needs to be  at the drop off for the FoQ by the end of June, I have my work cut out!!!!!!!!!!!

Arms started to ache so decided to sort out wave border, Ralph gave a helping hand.

Sunday came and went, Dad was not well.  Monday arrived and thought I better try and get some of those outstanding jobs done, one of which was the Round Robin – should be completed by 1.6.10 – bit 11th hour……….

Decided to cut circles and diagonals into it, like the pattern Sharne had stitched, circles and diamonds.  I really liked the rust dyed indigo fabric I had previously dyed and though this contrasted well with Deb’s fabric and decided to flip some of the strips over to give a bit of contrast – Not quite sure how any one is going to make a vessel out of this shape though!!!!!!!!!!
